Syllabus: NTSE Exam Pattern
The first thing you need to know before
getting into the detailed NTSE Syllabus is the NTSE exam pattern. The exam
pattern is same for both NTSE Stage 1 and Stage 2. In both the stages, there
are two sections – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic
Ability Test (SAT). The SAT again has two parts – Language
Test and Science, Social Science &
Mathematics. The syllabus is same for all these sections, for
both the stages of NTSE.
Let us look into the NTSE Syllabus for
each of these sections.
NTSE Syllabus For Mental Ability
Test (MAT)
The MAT tests for students’ logical reasoning and
analytical skills. Students must understand the theory behind various concepts
first and then move onto solving problems.

It is to be noted that the NTSE Syllabus is
not restricted to the topics mentioned above. In order to score well, you must
be well-versed with all the topics and concepts that are included in the NCERT
books (of the respective subjects) of Class 9 and 10.
Every time you finish a chapter, you must
solve sufficient number of NTSE practice questions until
you feel confident about the chapter. You must also take NTSE mock tests and evaluate
your performance. Based on your performance in the tests, you must work on your
weaknesses, both academically and skill-wise.
